This monthly class is for you if: * You've heard about how mindfulness can help your wellbeing and would like to try it out for the first time. * You've practised in the past with a teacher, an app or on your own and you'd like a refresher or to practice with others. * You've tried Mindful Mondays and would like to go further. * You're thinking about taking a longer course and would like to try it out first. * You'd like an hour of peaceful ways to reduce your stress.
Whatever the circumstances we find ourselves in, we can learn to respond to them in a calmer, more and creative manner.
Mindfulness meditation is a well-researched and effective way of alleviating stress and promoting wellbeing and flourishing. It can help us notice and appreciate the joy in life, as well as comfort and sustain us in times of trouble. And mindfulness can help us to stay centred, to think and see clearly, which in turn helps us to act wisely, with kindness towards ourselves and others.
Mindfulness is a way of staying in the present moment so we can be more aware of ourselves and our surroundings. It’s not about trying to forcibly change things, but instead trying to work with the way things are for better or for worse, so that we can make helpful choices in our lives.
Mindfulness can't eliminate all life's pressures, but it can help us respond to them in a calmer manner that benefits our head, heart and body.
These monthly classes are a great introduction to the benefits of mindfulness, and a way to connect with others and support our wellbeing. No prior experience is needed but by the end of the session you will have something to take away and use in daily life.
